Dani was so happy her new dining room table had arrived just in time for the first fancy dinner in her new house. She had food delivered from Taste of Thai and brought out her best silverware (okay, it was her only silverware at the moment). She wanted to be sure that her dad knew that she was doing very well without him and without Davis money.

Now, hopefully Vince and his friend had remembered the dress code for tonight was rather formal. Dani had reminded Vince to dress up if he was going to meet her father.

Ken glanced at the table, his expression neutral at the moment. "Impressive."

Dani really did seem to be doing well without him, something he really had not expected.

"Isn't this a great house, Dad? It took me a little while, but it was worth the wait," said Dani. "Plus I'm having a wine cellar put in as well, once my handyman is finished with the new fencing at the stable."

"You seem to have done well for yourself," Ken replied. "I take it your stable is bringing in good business?"

"It seems to be doing alright," said Dani. "Having Vince and his money has really helped my cash flow."

"Seemed you picked the right business partner, then," Ken said with a slight grin. That information was good to know.

"Wait until you meet Vince. I'm sure you'll be impressed," said Dani.

Vince and his purple suit would certainly make an impression on anyone...

"I look forward to it," Ken replied. "I'm sure we'll have a lot to discuss."

"You must be Dani's dad!" Vince said, grinning in his purple velvet suit.

"Genius."

"And you must be Vince?" Ken wasn't sure what to make of the suit. It sure was...eccentric.

"I am. Vince Noir, business investing star," he said. "You've got a lovely and brilliant daughter."

"That she is," Ken replied. "She tells me you've been a big help around here."

"Well, I'm a big business star," Vince said. "I do loads of helpful things."

"And the extra money doesn't hurt either," Ken said knowingly.

"Oh, right, the Celebradar money," Vince said. "I made a killing, and well... who wouldn't want to invest in Dani's assets, am I right?"

He winked at Ken.

This was going oh so well.

Ken was almost sure this was more than just a business partnership. Dani always had a talent for choosing guys Ken did not approve of.

"I'm sure her stable is a worthy investment. It's still pretty new. Maybe one day it'll bring in as much revenue as Davis Farms."

He didn't mind bragging about being rich. He was all about ulterior motives, after all.

"Oh, absolutely," Vince said. "With all the hard work we put into it, we'll be making gobs of cash. Don't you worry."

"I'm not too worried," Ken said. "But have you thought about other business investments?"

"Not really," Vince said. "Did you have some to offer?"

"I might have a few," Ken replied. "Though they might require you to travel."

"Well, then I'm probably not interested," Vince said. "I like it here."

Ken could tell this was going to take some extra effort. Now he was just going to get right to the point. "How much would it take for you to change your mind?"

It was a simple question, really.

"...ten thousand pounds and a teddy bear," Vince said.

That last part was an unusual request, but it was one Ken could surely manage. "I think we have a deal then."

"...Great!" Vince said. "And all I have to do is move?"

This was easy money. Think of all the hairspray he could buy! And Howard had been all 'come back', any way.
