Dani was so happy her new dining room table had arrived just in time for the first fancy dinner in her new house. She had food delivered from Taste of Thai and brought out her best silverware (okay, it was her only silverware at the moment). She wanted to be sure that her dad knew that she was doing very well without him and without Davis money.

Now, hopefully Vince and his friend had remembered the dress code for tonight was rather formal. Dani had reminded Vince to dress up if he was going to meet her father.

Ken glanced at the table, his expression neutral at the moment. "Impressive."

Dani really did seem to be doing well without him, something he really had not expected.

"Isn't this a great house, Dad? It took me a little while, but it was worth the wait," said Dani. "Plus I'm having a wine cellar put in as well, once my handyman is finished with the new fencing at the stable."

Vince arrived, wearing a purple velvet suit.

This was his idea of formal.

He knocked on the door.

Howard was right behind Vince.

Wearing a green suit and fedora.

Dani was smiling as she opened the door, because everything seemed to be going well so far.

The smile disappeared when she saw what Vince was wearing. "You found a suit," she said, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh wow," said Dani, looking back and forth from Howard to Vince. "You guys, uh, pulled out all the stops with your wardrobe."

"We are right fashionable blokes," Howard agreed.

"You definitely are," said Dani. "Come in and make yourselves comfortable. I had Thai food delivered. Have you had Thai before?"

"I'm a big fan of curry," Howard said. "This is a lovely place you have here."

"Thank you," said Dani. "There's even a pool out back, though I don't think we'll be doing any swimming this evening."

"You seem to have done well for yourself," Ken replied. "I take it your stable is bringing in good business?"

"It's great, isn't it?" Vince said. "I'm a king of the Mods, dressed like this."

"It seems to be doing alright," said Dani. "Having Vince and his money has really helped my cash flow."

"I hope you like Thai food," said Dani, waving him inside. "My dad is already here. He's been staying in the guest room upstairs."

"Wow, fancy," Howard said.

"...you have a guest room?" Vince said. "Wow, that's genius. I should totally move in."

"Seemed you picked the right business partner, then," Ken said with a slight grin. That information was good to know.

It really was very fancy, and every inch of the house screamed money.

"It really was important to me to have such comfortable surroundings. I've really enjoyed decorating this place." said Dani.

"Seriously, Vince, if you moved in, you wouldn't need an extra room," said Dani.

"Wait until you meet Vince. I'm sure you'll be impressed," said Dani.

Vince and his purple suit would certainly make an impression on anyone...

"I do have a really big closet in my room," said Dani.

"So you fancy yourself a decorator?" he asked.

"Oh, no, I'm a businesswoman," said Dani. "I pay someone else to do my decorating."
