Today the students would find themselves back in Valhalla's great feasting hall, the table groaning with food. "I thought that after our labors last week you deserved to enjoy the spoils!" Thor told the students. "So we've roast boar and all that one might wish to accompany it, and plenty of mead and ale and wine! Which makes this the perfect time to learn some drinking songs!"

Don had expressed a concern that some of the students might not be old enough to drink, but Don had been overruled. They were all in university, were they not?

"Neither of these songs comes from my home of Asgard, and indeed they are both rather more modern." One of them was from 1843. Much modern, very wow. "Helan Går is a song of Sweden, which has become popular throughout much of Scandinavia. Fear not if you do not speak Swedish; Wikipedia I have provided a phonetic version so you can sing along." Thor then proceeded to lead everyone in a rousing round of "Helan Går." It surely sounded fantastic.

"The other song for today is even more modern, but I am given to understand it is popular with SCA reenactors and such. It is meant to be sung 'in the round,' which means everyone picks up at a different point in the song." Thor then failed to explain any more about what singing in the round entailed, so likely chaos would ensue as he attempted to lead them in a round of "Lifeblood." "Now, please, eat, drink! Make merry! Sing! You have earned this feast!"

Gooooood morning Fandom! It's ya girl Arden Finch here, reminding you that next Tuesday is the first day of July, which means, the end of - official - Pride. So get your Pride on over the the next week if you haven't yet!

Moving on from warnings of tomorrow to news of yesterday, we kicked off the final week of this summer session in School! Teamwork had us write bitchy letters to people or an institution that made us mad, and then share our letters with someone else so they could help us bitch it up a notch. I wrote to Callista but then I shredded it. Creative Problem Solving had people composing...love songs to Dean Skywalker?! And then lip-synching to them again???! Wow...that sounds like a Wednesday Shenanigans he just couldn't find a way to incorporate slime into.

*a long pause*

Please don't take that as an idea, sir. [BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP] Uh, anyway, uh, then National Park Adventure Team got to go to the Golapagos Islands!

No notes from the Dorms and I've decided it's because there is fly paper over all the doors and windows preventing squirrels from getting in. Tune in next week to see what bizarre reason I can make up!

Some notes from Town, starting with Professor Vess at the Infinite Consortium debating what class to teach next session. There were...tentacle...things...at the Magpie Emporium. This note gives no more detail than that so watch out for tentacle things? [BLEEP], that woulda been a way better reason than fly paper. It was National Pink Day at Turtle and Canary, but Professor Smith didn't notice because she was busy with Rage...Fest...? Okay, y'all squirrels really need to get with the contextualizing details please! Professor Argentum was debating over his best pictures from Friday at The Photo Hut, and Officer McGarrett was making all the troopers at the Trooper Station take a cybersecurity training while he...also did the training. Yup! Everyone was appreciative of the AC at the Clinic - aww, it's not that hot yet, y'all!

*squirrelly chittering, including a word that sounds suspiciously like HVAC*

Listen to me you little rodent hooligans, you keep your mouths shut about stuff you're supposed to keep your mouths shut about, or else Leroy won't be the only one with a picture on the back of a milk carton, we clear?

Aheeeem, ANYWAY, we finish up our broadcast with Mr. Northman being shirtless at the Devil's Nest, when Professor Fel came in and learned about Shirtless Mondays. And Thursdays. Because that's how we roll on Fandom Island.

And that's it for me, folks! So this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off with one last Pride anthem for y'all to enjoy: We Are Family by those icons, Sister Sledge. Bye!

It was hot out. Stark wasn't too bothered by that but he was appreciating the air conditioning inside the clinic.

Stabby was staying in the water in his tank. Probably a wise move.

The nurses were very appreciative of the iced coffees Stark had brought with him and he offered to go out for more if needed.

Trebor was 'helping' today, clinging very hard to his pile of handouts, and everyone was getting a flyer as they arrived, under Ghanima's bemused supervision.

"While this class has been very good at practicing 'leave no trace,' the rules for where we are going today are a bit more strict," she said cheerfully. "Galápagos National Park, Ecuador's first national park, is located about 500 miles west of the mainland and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site."

"Most famous for their turtles, there is a total of 21 islands with 18 of them considered significant, although today we'll be visiting Tortuga Bay specifically. Sadly, we are outside Baby Turtle Season, so the odds of seeing a live, wild, hatching are very low, but there are plenty of other things to do."

"The wildlife in the Galapagos Islands is globally renowned featuring the Galapagos land iguanas, the marine iguanas, the giant Galapagos tortoise, the green turtle, blue-footed booby, waved albatross, and the Galapagos hawk and Galapagos penguin. Sea lions, whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, and several other marine species await divers and snorkelers."

She leaned-over to put a turtle-shaped sun hat on Trebor before picking him up as the portal arrived. "So, let's get going!"

Eric wasn't surprised that Tiny had the blender going for drinks this evening . Eric wasn't going fully blended but he did have a Hurricane in front of him to test for quality control: strong as shit and not too sweet, and if Tiny was doing it wrong, he'd hear about it.

The Devil's Nest was open and shirtless! Happy Monday.

It was too hot and humid to make the Troopers run around the island and they flatly refused to go swimming, so Steve set them up with mandatory cybersecurity training.

As long as they clicked at the right places, he didn't care if they were actually learning anything.

He was playing Minesweeper while stalking the paperwork for the drug running case that had ended his Naval career. He was fine.

When he wasn't chasing Noctra, fetching food for Liz, scarfing food for himself, or wishing Summer a happy birthday on Friday, Prompto was taking lots of pictures (naturally!) and so of course he was going tgrough them that Monday at work to help pick out some of the best ones.

And, as usual, there was a lot of debate on which ones were the best, and so the list was pretty long, but that was find! Nothing wrong with that!

You know how on week one they said they'd be working in the Danger Shop weekly? Oops. It was the classroom today, where each desk had a notebook and pen on it.

"We're going to talk about communication," Jag began. "You've had to communicate with your teammates in these exercises, of course, but that's not the only method."

"You're writing angry letters," Jaina said.

"Yes, that," he said. "You've will each pick a subject you're angry or annoyed about, and write to the person, product or institution causing your ire. These will not be shared outside of this room, and we have a shredder available for use if you choose."

"And once you're done writing, you're going to pair up and perform a bitch check on each others' letters," Jaina said. "Check the tone, whether it's constructive, even if they can be meaner. The other person can correct as necessary, or not."

Listen, sometimes you needed to yell at people in written form. She wasn't about to say you shouldn't.

"You can get started when ready," Jag finished.

Summer was at work that Monday, but she was distracted, because the current business was bound to suffer a little when its entrepreneurial boss was at the start of looking into a new one. So while she was busy hashing out some logistics of getting a jello shop up and running on a different plane before RageFest (or would after be a better idea? Something else to consider! But the idea was to have the shots for RageFest to really get started with a real fucking bang), she was only marginally aware of other things going on in the store.

Which was a shame, because it was National Pink Day, and Apu had gone all out, especially with Summer in mind, with decorations and special sales on pink items, and even a pink outfit for himself! And she wasn't even noticing! Talk about a tragedy! He was very put out about it, but if Summer noticed that, she probably wouldn't really actually care.

Overnight the displacer and mimic plushies had been joined by a group of oddly adorable tentacle things.

They didn't seem to be getting into any trouble, and they were thematically appropriate, so Vi wasn't moving them, but she was keeping an eye on them. Just in case.

There was a stage and microphone set up in the classroom today. It was probably nothing to worry about.

Of course not! These teachers were known for how normal and boring their classes were.

"Before we get to that," Anakin said, "you need to show us what you've brought from other people's houses today."

Once Anakin had judged their taste and possibly their life choices, Ahsoka continued. "Your task today is to improvise a love song to Anakin," she said, somehow with a straight face. "We will provide a backing track and there will be a bonus for the best lyrics."

Anakin blinked. "Wait. What?"

"That's what the task says," Ahsoka replied, passing him the clipboard.

"I don't remember this task," Anakin said.

"Have you been bitten by a gremlin recently?"

"No," Anakin said, frowning.

Ahsoka shrugged. "You must have just forgotten, then."

Anakin looked less convinced. "Maybe." He shrugged. "Maybe they'll be good at this."

Maybe.

The trouble with refusing to be beholden to the mundanities of time did occasionally backfire - usually when other people's calendars required paying attention to. Like right now, when she realized that if she wanted to teach next semester, she had to come up with the class idea and writeup now. Ugh. Did she want to reteach this, but with new scenarios? Another class on indulging? Opposing mana pairs...? No, that one would be better as a full semester class.

So rather than putting away the week's delivery, Liliana was lounging at her desk, contemplating her possibilities. It looked a lot like filing her nails, but she was deep in thought.

Lana was back to dressing in her usual home-galaxy armor today, and smiled as they waited for their portal.

"Today we're going to the other capital city in the galaxy. Kaas City on Dromund Kaas, my own birthplace." The portal came, and she led them through to a wide plaza in the middle of a city. They were under an overhang, which was fortunate, because it was raining.

Lana passed out small electronic devices. "Clip these to your waistband or sleeve," she advised. "They're miniature repulsors that work just enough to keep the rain from falling on you. If we waited for a clear day on Dromund Kaas to visit, we could be years. Kaas City is largely powered by lightning, if that tells you anything about the climate."

Once everyone was a bit more rain-proof, she led them out from under their roof and over to where they could see a bit more of the city. "This is the seat of the Empire. That building over there, with the red lighting and the banners, is the Sith Sanctum, where all Sith have offices, and generally at least a small flat to use when they're here for business. The Empress has a throne room there, too, though I didn't get us an audience. Frankly, Sith politics at their best are boring, and when they're not, it's best to be somewhere else. Instead, you have a few choices. You can wander about here - there are shops and plazas," most of which had statues, and some of which even had fountains, redundant as that was, "or you can board a shuttle," she pointed at it, "and head out of the city for a tour of the wildlife. Strictly shuttle-bound," she stressed. "Most of it is large and deadly. You can also, if you'd rather, head across this plaza, where there's a mid-sized theatre showing a well-regarded opera. Unless you've got the means to translate it," she suspected Charlie did, "you won't understand Sith, but neither do a good number of the other attendees."

She shrugged and waved them to it.

Good morning, everyone, it's Steve Rogers with the news.

In classes, Art of Breakfast made hash browns and home fries, Ethics talked magic and technology--one of Tony's favorite arguments--we went to a giant Kentucky cave in National Parks, Philosophy of Food talked economics, and there was a summer reading display at the library, complete with sand and gremlins in lounge chairs. No word on if they were in swimwear, so I'll leave that mental image to your imaginations.

In town, Liz was unpacking boxes at the Photo Hut, Jack was working out with his lightsabers, Watts and Steven talked anniversary vacation plans, and Ignis and Liliana have invited all of us to a party next Friday, so clear your calendars. Luma was exploring the colors of nail polish available at Pixie Dust, Stewart worked on his set list for Summer's party today, and Thor celebrated Juneteenth with red drinks.

The Supper Club went to the Lobster Hut--

    *chittering*

I did so pronounce the "r". Rey and Lydia congratulated Liliana, Adrian told Rey about how the island hated him and was punishing him through terrible music, and Rey and Lydia agreed that the dean should never ever have a lava-based Wednesday event. Liliana and Ignis talked about Summer's invitation to RageFest, Adrian and Ignis discussed Adrian's excess of produce--really?

    *chittering*

You make it sound like a euphemism that way.

Rey and Lydia also congratulated Ignis, Lydia was surprised that Adrian's cat didn't come with him to get fish, and Captain Flint made it very clear that he wouldn't be wearing a bib for anything. This led to a discussion about laundry with Lydia, why Flint had thrown Beaker around on Wednesday, and how a bib would ruin people appreciating Liliana's...assets.

    *chittering*

I know what you wrote. I'm not saying it. Adrian assured the captain that he was quite formidable and the island's sense of being afraid of people is just broken. On that happy note, I'm out of notes. I'm grilling at Summer's beach party, though, so come down and say hi, okay?

Rey hadn't worked with the gravity controls in a while, so she had them turned up while she was trying the course. She blamed the disuse for why it felt so much more difficult than the last time. Of course she would be moving slower, but it was slower than she would have liked.

It's already meteorological summer. And nature wants what? To kill you. Don't get me wrong, nature is meant to be enjoyed, but you must always respect its power.
